Annual Summer Institute

Every year Making Math Real offers select courses from the professional development series for parents and educators during its Annual Summer Institute. The compact scheduling and consecutive order of the courses is ideal for parents and educators from out-of-town or local to the San Francisco Bay Area to enroll in any or all of the courses in the series.

Summer 2020 courses begin June 11 and run through July 21, 2020 at the Alameda County Training and Education Center in Oakland, CA.

Making Math Real: Overview, K-12
June 11-12

The 9 Lines Intensive
June 15-16 and 18

June 22-23 and 25-26

Algebra I
June 29-30, July 2, 6-7, 9-10, 13-14, and 16*

Course Times:
All courses run daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm, except for the Overview which runs from 9am-6pm. Each day of class there is a 1 hour break for lunch and additional 10 minute breaks in the morning and afternoon.

Important Note About Summer Schedule:
Please note that during the Summer Institute there will be no courses scheduled on weekends or on Wednesdays.  Due to the intensity of the courses, no more than 2 consecutive days of a course are scheduled at a time, for the benefit of the participants.  Summer courses are scheduled on a Monday-Tuesday [Wednesday off], Thursday-Friday schedule.
